In the years that followed, he released another album, Hood Rich (2002). Two singles from the album were critically acclaimed; Still Fly was nominated for a Grammy Award and Oh Yeah! Received a Platinum certification. In 2003, the label released Big Money Heavyweight which was certified Gold in the United State and while his partnership with Mannie Fresh seemed good, the DJ resigned from Cash Money in 2005. Birdman changed his name from ‘Baby’ after his group, Big Tymers broke up in 2005. His next album, Father and Son was a collaboration with Lil Wayne, whom he refers as his son; owing to the fact that he discovered and took Wayne under his wing at an early age. Two singles; Pop Bottle and I Run This, from his fourth album 5 * Stunna, with Wayne were a huge success. His first UK release in 2009, Written on Her, from the album, Pricele$$, featured British singer Jay Sean.
In the years that followed, Birdman has released several songs and mixtapes featuring famous artistes like Rick Ross,, Young Jeezy, Bun B, and many members of Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment. With his label and fame, Birdman promoted upcoming rappers like Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan whom he featured in his single titled Lifestyle, from his album Rich Gang album. The album also features music from the Atlanta-based rappers – Thug and Quan.
